Global Innovative Online School is an innovative online platform for learning mathematics and developing critical thinking.
GIOS is a Ukrainian startup founded in Kyiv in 2019.
Over three years, the platform expanded to every part of Ukraine, received approval from the Ministry of Education and Science, and reached 101,000 users. The platform now contains 18 products, more than 112 lessons, and over 5,500 mathematics assignments.
After February 24, however, every Ukrainian business reconsidered the direction of its work — and the GIOS team did too.
Although the team is spread across different parts of the world, the work process has not stopped for a single day since the beginning of the war.
GIOS continues to operate during the war in Ukraine. Management decided to provide free access to the platform to all teachers and classes who wanted it, so that mathematics education in the country’s schools would not stop.
During the first months of the war, the team received more than 650 applications from mathematics teachers and their classes asking to start learning on GIOS. Our team received about 1,000 applications from individual families and provided more than 16,000 accesses.
Free learning on the platform helped children and teachers who had to move abroad or remained in occupied territories continue their education.
The most striking response came from a mathematics teacher in Kherson who continues teaching children according to the Ukrainian curriculum even under occupation.
Teachers are the heroes of our time and warriors on the educational front.
We also launched coordinated assistance for everyone through our marketplace. We connect those who need help with those who can provide it. More than 1,000 people contacted us, and we were able to help them through difficult situations.
✅ GIOS founder Nataliya Limonova has been actively working on the digital and information front. She addressed the General Assembly of the World Business Angels Investment Forum and called for support for Ukraine.
✅ The platform blocked users from Russia and Belarus from visiting our website and studying on the platform.
✅ One GIOS student helped block a sabotage channel used to spread marks.
✅ Our colleagues abroad actively attend rallies and help Ukrainian citizens.
✅ In April, our team attended the global Startup Grind Global 2022 conference in Silicon Valley.
Despite Russia’s aggression, we Ukrainians continue working and creating innovative products for the world.
