Kontora Pi: A Successful Case of Working with the Platform

Today we are sharing our achievements with you — more precisely, the achievements of teachers and students who had a positive experience working with GIOS as part of the Kontora Pi camp. Four hundred and thirty-six students and 25 teachers had two months to work with the platform. What came of it? Let’s discuss it in this article.

Who is Kontora Pi?

It is a mathematics community of talented children and teachers preparing a smart nation for a successful future. Mathematics receives particular attention. That is why Kontora Pi, founded by Petro Chernyshov, created a mathematics camp designed to engage students in studying the subject.

The purpose of this camp is not only recreation but also learning, which must be interesting. The teachers’ session took place in April. Twenty-five of the most talented and enthusiastic teachers passed the selection process — they prepare children for olympiads, lead extracurricular clubs, and tirelessly look for better ways to teach. These are the educators who change the system!

During the camp, teachers were introduced to the GIOS platform. Each participant received access through the end of the next school year so they could explore innovative approaches to learning and blended learning together with their students.

What came of it?

After the camp, teachers had a powerful tool that works well alongside their professional expertise — the GIOS platform. Until the end of the next school year, teachers could explore flipped-classroom and blended-learning approaches together with their students.

The modern online platform allowed children to master tasks of different levels faster and with greater interest. Teachers noted that students’ progress in mathematics was obvious. Interactive video lessons and vivid animation helped them focus on the task, while the ability to track their results and receive rewards motivated them!

“Before leaving for professional development courses at the beginning of May, I decided to give my students a challenge so they would study independently. Most children completed all the lessons on their own and received the highest scores among all Kontora Pi students.” — Olena Yaremenko, Kontora Pi teacher
